Preserving the 2019-2020 Initiative
The Inland California Rising coalition was formed during a critical inflection point for the state. Recognizing that coastal metropolitan areas were absorbing the vast majority of technological and economic investment, local leaders, academic researchers, and municipal representatives convened to build a new framework for California's interior.
From the industrial logistics corridors of the Inland Empire to the agricultural hubs of Stockton, the initiative focused on bridging the digital divide, fostering inter-county collaboration, and driving forward a localized vision of economic capacity. This digital repository exists to preserve the research, partnerships, and community aspirations generated during those pivotal summits.
A Legacy of Institutional Collaboration
The historical strength of the Inland Rising movement was its ability to unite diverse institutions. By partnering with leading urban policy institutes, California state assembly members, and regional university researchers, the coalition proved that investing in Inland California's human capital is the key to the state's future economic stability.
From Policy to Physical Infrastructure
As we archive the historical achievements of the initiative, we also look toward the ongoing realities of regional growth. Economic prosperity cannot exist in the abstract. True "shared prosperity" requires sustainable, physical infrastructure.
The massive expansion of the Inland Empire's warehousing and logistics sectors has brought undeniable economic velocity, but it has also placed unprecedented strain on local neighborhoods. To honor the original mission of uplifting communities, our archival focus now heavily examines the physical housing standards, environmental health metrics, and infrastructure requirements necessary to protect the working families of Inland California.
